The spookiest time of year is coming up! The time of year when it’s perfectly acceptable to slip fake eyeballs into people’s drinks, make your house look like a haunted mansion, or just perform some good old fashioned jump scares!

Well my friends, the reality is that Halloween is a horror story for our environment. A study found that 83% of Halloween costumes are made from unrecyclable material and will inevitably end up in landfill. That’s not to mention the accessories, decorations, sweet wrappers and pumpkins. To put this into context, the equivalent of 520 elephants worth of plastic waste is thrown away at Halloween.

But fear not, this year, we have some great ideas on how you can have a terrifyingly terrific Halloween, but one that’s a bit kinder to our environment – and hopefully saves you some pennies!
